Dear participants of the WBC in Cancun, dear friends and colleagues working with cattle,
we had a great time in Cancun during the World Buiatric Congress, and now we are ready to meet online again till the next WBC that, as you know, will be held in Istanbul in September 2026 (save the date from now).

Prof. Ermias Kebreab, College of Agriculture and Environmental Sciences of the UC Davis, is the outstanding speaker of our webinar that will have the title of: “Mitigating Ruminant Methane Emissions: Innovative Strategies and Research Insights”
Prof. Ermias Kebreab is associate dean for global engagement in the College of Agricultural and Environmental Sciences, as well as director of the World Food Center, University of California, Davis. He chaired the United Nations FAO Technical Working Group on Feed Additives and methane, served on committee for the National Academy of Sciences (NAS) Panel on Anthropogenic Methane Emissions in the United States and contributed to IPCC guidelines on livestock methane emissions. He has conducted extensive research in developing strategies for using feed additives to reduce methane emissions from livestock.
Before his presentation, especially for the one that could not attend the WBC in Cancun, I will present a short overview of the congress in Cancun.
